Default Blood Magic Build?

Hey guys I've been playing GW forever, but I quit playing Necro a while back. I was wondering if there are any really good blood magic damage (not support) builds or if I should push towards a different build. I have Prop-NF, but I play primarily in NF. any help is appreciated

There are no good damage builds that utilise a lot blood magic. A few builds might use [Spoil Victor], but the rest of the bar will be filled with Curses.
A-Net hates the blood magic line and the bloodspike team gimmick from GvG means that all the line recieves are nerfs (even for PvE).
Despite the fact that this line holds the most direct damage skills out of all necromancer lines, it is the least suited for it.

It's use extends to limited support skills, nothing more.

the only decent blood build I can think of is the b-spike

[life transfer][shadow strike][lifebane strike] and some other blood skills

Change "decent" to "just about viable" and you might be ok.
In PvE, offensive blood bars are almost useless. The majority of your damage is weak, single target damage. Lifesteal may seem powerful, but it's for that reason that A-Net has made it weak.
For PvP, it's a little better, but not much so. You still take ages to kill and waste large amounts of energy doing so.

Don't get me wrong, Blood magic will get you through NF and all the other campaigns in Normal mode (at least, it did for me), but it'll be a struggle at the end (particularly in NF and EotN) and you won't stand a chance in HM.

Bspike consists of more then one person. So how do you suppose he does it on his own....in pve?

Orders is pretty much the only viable Blood build to run, and even then, you need to have a team that is mainly Physicals to take advantage of the insane increase in damage - it doesn't benefit casters much at all.

Spoil Victor is good for Hard Mode, as the monsters are all lvl 24+ with increased HP, and bosses will absolutely massacre themselves while this hex is on them. The other Blood Magic skills are decent, but as said earlier, are really only good for support. Max effective degen is -10, or -20hp/second. Physicals output far more than 20dps, and health regen is heal over time, so getting 20hp/sec heal is far outclassed by getting any halfway decent direct heal (Word of Healing, Dwayna's Kiss, Patient Spirit, etc.).

If you do decide to go with an offensive Blood build, despite their heavy drawbacks try something like this:

Blood Magic: 12+1+(1-3)
Soul Reaping: 8+1
Curses: 10+1

[[email protected]][Spoil [email protected]][Blood of the [email protected]][[email protected]][Mark of [email protected]][Foul [email protected]][Plague [email protected]][Signet of Lost [email protected]]

*Keep Masochism up as much as possible (Blood of the Aggressor and Plague Sending)
*Hit Monks and Eles with SV
*Spam BotA on recharge on Physicals/any Caster that is wanding
*Use MoP on a central target if mobs ball up (call that target so your Physicals wail on it)
*Use Barbs on targets that just won't go down (again, call it so your Physicals target it)
*Use Foul Feast to remove dangerous Conditions from your party members
*Use Plague Sending to reapply drawn Conditions onto enemies
*Use SoLS on any target under 50%hp to get a quick shot of energy/health

If you have anyone in your Party, Player or Hero, that exploits corpses (Minion Bombers/Minion Masters) don't use Wells. The corpses are more efficiently used by the other Party Members.

What could possibly make you think that?

With regards toTyrael's bar, you don't really need masochism. If you absolutely insisted on using a blood skill, I'd use this:

[build prof=N blood=12+1 Curses=9+3 Soul=9+1][Spoil Victor][Barbs][Mark of Pain][Enfeebling Blood][Signet of Lost Souls][Foul Feast][Plague Sending][no skill][/build]
Take whatever you think is suitable for that last slot. Another curses skill, a res, mabye [Well of Blood]. Hell, if you don't want plague sending, foul feast or enfeebling blood, you could take [masochism] along with [order of pain].
But really, the majority of your damage will come from the curses skills Barbs ad Mark of Pain. You might as well make a build capitalising on those and not bother with Spoil Victor unless you're going up against a big boss.

If you really, really want a direct damage build using blood magic, just throw together some life steal skills that look as though they might synergise. Go easy on the ones requiring sacrifice.
Unless, like me, you want to use something like this in Fort Aspenwood:
[build name="Stupid Ravenous Gaze build" prof=N soul=12+1 blood=12+1+3][Jaundiced Gaze][Blood of the Aggressor][Ravenous Gaze][Blood Drinker][Angorodon's Gaze][Masochism][Awaken the Blood][Demonic Flesh][/build]
Whatever you do though, don't run in that in PvE - you'll die or you'll never get Ravenous Gaze off. Hell, you'll die a lot in Fort Aspenwood too, but it's hilarious when it goes right.

Blood magic ,is one of those attribute spell lines that its quite bad except for a few exceptions,so like others have already mentioned there is no good blood damage build,u are better of with support spells.

[Life Transfer][Vampiric Gaze][Touch of Agony][Vampiric Touch][Strip Enchantment][Well of Blood][Awaken the Blood][Resurrection signet]

Just used it in PvP. Works like a charm.

RA ofcourse. There is no way that would work anywhere else without skill changes. Just get Awaken up and then press keys 1-6 (assuming you kill by 5 lol)

Btw, this is one case where Awaken is useful because the difference between [life [email protected]] and [Life [email protected]] is important.

Grim Lich, you sacrifice 20% of your maximum health every time you use [Touch of Agony] because [Awaken the Blood] makes you sacrifice twice as you normally would. This skill is used in suicidal builds for a reason. Let's not forget that it's also a touch skill, forcing you to the front lines and that's not your only touch skill, you also have [Vampiric Touch] equipped, a 15 energy touch skill. Moreover, these skills only shine if you spam them and that's not viable with your build. I don't want to insult you but are you sure that you used that exact build with any success, even if it's RA?

Life Transfer would help cover the sac costs, but I prefer Vampiric Spirit for that.
AtB only adds 50%, it doesn't double. So 10% sac becomes a 15% sac, not 20%.

The damage done from blood skills is mediocre at best, it's only shining point being that it's unprottable.

Oh you're right, I remembered it wrongly, shows you how ofte I use blood magic skills .Still 16 health per second "covers" the the -15% of max health only 3.15 times in the next 11.25 second (assuming you have 600hp and 16 blood magic) and you've just lost the most efficient healing skill you got.

I'm going to assume that you didn't even bother to go try the build, but instead tried to logically point out it's flaws to save time. [Touch of Agony] is the only sac skill, and you have two life stealing skills and +9 regen to cover it, not to mention Blood well, or even Strip enchants.

And also I took this screen last night. I would have kept going, but I had to go :S.

6 consecutive wins in RA isn't proof of the quality of build.
Also, you're supposed to blank out the names of all the players before posting screenies.

I was also under the impression that the OP was interested in PvE builds, but whatever.

I shall state why your build is ineffective:
It has no form of energy management and yet, Vampiric Touch is a very expensive skill. A necromancer does not have the extensive energy pool in PvP as they do in PvE. Soul Reaping does not trigger enough.
You have two touch range skills, one of which requires sacrifice and the other of which, cannot be used enough. The necromancer is the worst caster class to put in the frontlines.
The damage is still mediocre and not maintainable. A single, inept healer will nullify the lot of it.
